🪲 Fixed in this version:

  • Enriched network device nodes with snmp.ip field.

Full version history

⚠️WARNING⚠️: Possible breaking changes and warnings - PLEASE READ before upgrading:

  • This version requires a minimum Dynatrace version of 1.338.0 and a minimum EEC version of 1.333.0.
  • This version includes a potentially breaking change for Dynatrace on Grail.
    • With the inclusion of OpenPipeline processing rules, any metrics ingested from the extension will be processed by a dedicated OpenPipeline pipeline instead of the default pipeline.
    • This means that any created custom dynamic rules will no longer be used on metrics ingested from the extension. If you want to keep enforcing them, please create pipeline groups.
    • Additionally, some field names are handled differently in OpenPipeline, e.g. capitalization. Please double-check any custom dashboards and alerts you have created for this extension.
    • You must opt-in to OpenPipeline configuration via Settings API – see the documentation.

New in this version:

  • Smartscape on Grail. This extension will populate new Smartscape nodes and edges via OpenPipeline extraction.
  • Refactored feature sets according to the best practices established here.
  • Added feature set metadata for recommended metrics.

Full version history

⚠️ IMPORTANT: This version contains a change to feature sets that may require enabling a new feature set to continue collecting existing data

    • if.type
    • if.alias
    • if.highspeed
    • if.promiscuousmode
    • if.mtu

Full version history

🪲 Fixed in this version (2.5.4):

  • Setting identifying dimensions as required for generic devices and interfaces.

Full version history

Fixed in this version:

  • sys.name and mac.address dimensions are required on all network metrics and filtered for empty values. This caused unnecessary stress on topology engine

✨ New in this version (2.4.3):

  • Added the following metric to the new Advanced interfaces feature set:
    • com.dynatrace.extension.network_device.if.lastchange

Full version history

Fixed in this version:

  • In some cases, the topology rules would end up creating extra network:interface entities which would be disconnected from the rest of the topology

Full version history

⚠️ IMPORTANT CHANGE:

Metrics in "default" feature set will always be enabled and cannot be disabled. These metrics are mandatory. Take extra caution configuring devices and interfaces for which you are collecting data. Make use of Interface filters to limit the number of interfaces, otherwise, all interfaces on the device will be collected by default. In case you do not wish to collect interfaces on your device, enter $eq(!) in the "Interface Name" filter field on the Feature Sets screen during configuration.

  • Default network metrics moved into the "default" feature set, specifically Interface metrics.

⚠️ Additional notes:

  • You must disable the old "neighbor-discovery" feature set in order to update
  • SNMP Health metrics will be disabled by default when first updating (due to the feature set change)

Fixed in this version:

  • Network charts for these devices in the Infrastructure Operations app would have DQL execution errors

Improved in this version:

  • SNMP Health metrics moved into a separate feature set for SNMP
  • Neighbour Discovery (LLDP) feature set was removed. This is now handled by the SNMP Autodiscovery extension for any kind of device

New in this version:

  • Security Context is applied to entities
