IT modernization planning for Federal agencies spans multi-year cycles: platform decisions made at a point in time must sustain through implementation timelines and evolving technologies. A vendor may be certified today, but will their technology still meet an agency’s requirements when a program reaches full operating capability tomorrow?

Federal agencies are modernizing through hybrid cloud transformation and AI adoption while threat actors are using AI to accelerate attack velocity. The pace of change in this environment demands technology that is purpose-built for it—an AI-native platform that can process, analyze, and act on the scale of data that modern environments generate.

At this moment of increased pressure on government agencies, Dynatrace is building its platform to operate across the higher security baselines that evolving federal missions require.

Where does Dynatrace stand today on FedRAMP?

The Dynatrace platform is not a new entrant to the federal market and FedRAMP certification. Dynatrace has held FedRAMP Moderate authorization since 2020 and completed reauthorization in 2024 under NIST SP 800-53 Revision 5, including expanded coverage for Dynatrace Application Security, which is becoming more crucial as attackers increasingly use AI to accelerate threat velocity.

Dynatrace is building the stringent compliance and regulatory requirements of FedRAMP Class D into its newest platform generation first—so that when certification is achieved, agencies get access to the platform’s full capability set. This full-platform compliance posture serves agencies with the most demanding security requirements. Federal agencies across civilian, defense, and intelligence sectors have been running mission-critical workloads on the Dynatrace platform for years—many in air-gapped environments.

What does FedRAMP Class D certification mean, and how does it differ from Class C?

FedRAMP High covers the government’s most sensitive unclassified data—workloads where a compromise could cause severe or catastrophic harm to national security, public safety, or critical infrastructure. Moderate covers systems where the consequences of a breach are serious but not catastrophic. The certification level an agency requires is determined by the sensitivity of the data the system processes, following the FIPS 199 high water mark rule: if any data type in scope qualifies as High impact, the entire system requires FedRAMP High.

The table below summarizes the key control baselines of NIST SP 800-53B, the regulation that governs FedRAMP, and some key differences between the Class C and Class D baselines.

Class C (Moderate)  Class D (High)  Dynatrace platform capabilities
Real-time threat detection Automated monitoring tools, detection of unauthorized connections, and system-generated security alerts. Adds visibility into encrypted traffic, behavioral anomaly detection for insider threats, host-based monitoring at specific components, and automated response to suspicious events. Dynatrace Intelligence continuously analyzes full-stack telemetry—logs, traces, metrics, and runtime behavior—to surface anomalies and trigger automated responses, satisfying Class D’s behavioral monitoring and automated-action requirements without manual triage.
Automated incident response Documented incident handling procedures and incident monitoring, with no requirement for automation. Automated incident handling processes and automated tracking with data collection throughout the incident lifecycle (IR-4(1), IR-5(1)). Dynatrace automates incident detection, root cause analysis, and workflow triggers via ITSM integrations (for ex, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Jira). This directly satisfies Class D’s requirement that incident handling and tracking be automated, not just documented.
Ongoing compliance evidence A continuous monitoring strategy with organization-defined metrics and frequencies; self-assessed. All the Class C requirements, plus independent assessors or assessment teams must monitor controls on an ongoing basis. Dynatrace produces continuous, auditable streams of compliance evidence (configuration states, policy violations, and control effectiveness) that independent assessors can access directly, reducing the manual reporting burden Class D introduces.
Configuration drift detection Document baseline configurations, monitor for deviations, and identify unauthorized changes. Automated enforcement of configuration settings and automated remediation of unauthorized changes, with rollback capability and signed-component verification. Dynatrace automatically inventories all system components, detects configuration changes in real time, and integrates with remediation pipelines to enable the automated enforcement and rollback workflows Class D requires beyond Class C’s document-and-monitor approach.

For agencies currently running Dynatrace under FedRAMP Moderate, this pursuit is additive—the existing Class C (Moderate) certification remains fully in place. For agencies with workloads that span both baselines, the goal is to support both within a single platform.

What does the timeline for FedRAMP Class D certification look like?

Agency-sponsored certification paths typically run 18 to 36 months from formal initiation, although the exact timeline to complete the process varies for every provider. Announcing intent ahead of formal certification signals the strategic intent and direction Dynatrace is taking and gives agencies the visibility they need to plan.

What distinguishes the Dynatrace approach is sequencing. Rather than pursuing certification on an existing platform and then engineering to meet the boundary, Dynatrace is building the required architecture on its newest platform generation first—so that when certification is achieved, agencies get access to the platform’s full capability set. Dynatrace will communicate clear milestones, including reaching “In Process” status on the FedRAMP marketplace, as they occur.

What does FedRAMP Class D certification mean in practice for agencies?

For agencies evaluating Dynatrace today, the practical implication is continuity. Agencies don’t have to choose between what their current requirements demand and what a future, more sensitive program will require. Dynatrace is building the platform to meet them where they are today and scale with them as their mission security requirements evolve.

The Dynatrace government portfolio is designed around customer- and partner-managed deployments within agency-defined operational boundaries, ensuring data sovereignty and control across all classification levels. The FedRAMP Class D pursuit is intended to extend that compliance posture to the cloud-hosted baseline, making it available in both environments.

The Dynatrace roadmap also extends beyond FedRAMP Class D to include Department of Defense and other evolving government security standards, reinforcing its commitment to the full spectrum of public sector security requirements.

Why does AI-powered observability matter for this mission?

Federal agencies are accelerating hybrid cloud transformation, AI adoption, and modernization at the same time they’re managing increasingly complex security environments. Maintaining operational visibility across all of it—cloud, data center, and air-gapped infrastructure—requires more than monitoring. It requires precise answers, automated remediation, and the ability to understand causality across a full-stack environment in real time.

That’s what Dynatrace brings to the mission: AI-powered, full-stack observability that supports performance and security for every application, every device, and every user, regardless of where they operate. Achieving FedRAMP Class D certification means that capability will be available to agencies handling the government’s most sensitive workloads.

FAQ

What is FedRAMP Class D (High), and why do I need it?

FedRAMP Class D is the certification baseline for cloud services that handles the government’s most sensitive, unclassified data. If a breach could cause severe or catastrophic harm—to national security, public safety, or critical infrastructure—Class D certification is a compliance requirement, not a choice.

What is FedRAMP Class C (Moderate)?

FedRAMP Class C is the certification baseline for cloud services that handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) where a breach would cause serious but not catastrophic harm. It’s the most common federal certification, covering the majority of civilian agency cloud use cases. Dynatrace has held this certification since 2020.

What are the differences between FedRAMP Class C and FedRAMP Class D?

The core difference is data sensitivity and consequence. Class C covers systems where a breach causes serious but recoverable harm. Class D covers systems where a breach could be catastrophic—national security, critical infrastructure, emergency services. Class D requires roughly 90 additional controls, with stricter thresholds across authentication, monitoring, and incident response.

Does Dynatrace have FedRAMP Class D certification today?

No. Dynatrace has announced its intent to pursue FedRAMP High authorization. The company currently holds FedRAMP Moderate authorization, achieved in 2020 and reauthorized under NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5. FedRAMP High authorization is an active engineering and compliance effort, and Dynatrace will communicate milestones as they occur.

Who will benefit from Dynatrace achieving FedRAMP High authorization?

U.S. federal agencies handling the government’s most sensitive unclassified data—including defense, intelligence community, and highly regulated civilian agencies—will be the primary beneficiaries. The authorization will also extend to state and local government agencies, commercial customers working with federal agencies, and global public sector organizations operating in environments that require elevated security and compliance standards.

What’s the typical timeline for achieving FedRAMP High authorization?

Agency-sponsored authorization paths typically run 18 to 36 months from formal initiation. Dynatrace is not committing to a specific completion date but will communicate milestones—including reaching “In Process” status on the FedRAMP marketplace—as they occur.

How does this announcement affect the existing Dynatrace FedRAMP Moderate authorization?

For customers using Dynatrace Managed, the Dynatrace FedRAMP Class C (Moderate) authorization remains in place, and agencies running on that baseline are not impacted. The FedRAMP Class D (High) pursuit is additive, and intended for the Dynatrace third-generation platform.

Does Dynatrace support air-gapped and on-premises deployments?

Yes. Dynatrace supports customer- and partner-managed deployments within agency-defined operational boundaries for the most sensitive missions. The FedRAMP High effort extends this compliance posture to the cloud-hosted baseline—it does not replace existing deployment options.

Dynatrace + Bindplane

___

Dynatrace has entered into an agreement to acquire Bindplane, a modern telemetry pipeline built on open standards that acts as a control plane for data from disparate sources. Together, Dynatrace and Bindplane will extend data collection from the edge through analytics, combining open-standards-based telemetry pipeline capabilities with AI-powered observability to give customers greater access, flexibility, and control of their logs, metrics, and application data.

Cloud-native architectures and AI-driven applications are fundamentally changing the scale and complexity of modern systems. More intelligence is moving to the edge, where ephemeral services, automated pipelines, and AI systems now make real-time decisions based on signals from hundreds of continuously active sensors.

As a result, observability data—logs, metrics, traces, and events—are increasing exponentially in both volume and variety, placing pressure on teams to manage cost, maintain visibility, and extract meaningful insight from increasingly fragmented inputs.

At the same time, expectations for observability have also evolved. It’s no longer enough to understand what happened. Teams need to understand why it happened and trust automated systems to act on that insight.

With thousands—or millions—of distributed collectors producing telemetry non-stop, the challenge isn’t just data volume; it’s coordination. Organizations need a control plane to access and orchestrate telemetry throughout the entire lifecycle, from the edge to analysis.

Today, we’re very happy to announce Dynatrace has entered into an agreement to acquire Bindplane, a modern telemetry pipeline built on open standards that acts as a control plane for data beginning at its source, giving teams greater flexibility and access to how systems collect, process, and route telemetry data before it reaches their observability platforms.

Addressing the challenge of telemetry at scale

As organizations accelerate adoption of cloud- and AI-native technologies, they’re encountering a new set of challenges:

  • Rapidly increasing telemetry volumes that drive up cost
  • Fragmented data collection across multiple tools and agents
  • Limited flexibility in how they can route and store telemetry data
  • Manual processes required to normalize and correlate signals

These challenges are not just slowing down operations. They directly impact the ability of teams to implement AI, automate cloud and AI workflows, and deliver reliable digital experiences.

To meet these challenges, Dynatrace and Bindplane will give customers more flexibility, access, and control of telemetry across environments.

Bringing intelligence earlier into the data lifecycle

Bindplane introduces a unified telemetry pipeline that operates at the point where data is collected.

Built on OpenTelemetry, Bindplane enables teams to collect, process, and route observability data in real time before it’s ingested into downstream systems, across any environment, to any destination.

With this capability, organizations can:

  • Filter unnecessary data and reduce ingest costs
  • Standardize observability signals across diverse environments
  • Enrich data with context before analysis
  • Flexibly route telemetry across observability, security, and storage platforms

By bringing intelligence earlier into the lifecycle, teams can ensure that the data flowing into their observability platforms is scalable, relevant, and high-quality from the start.

Strengthening the foundation for AI-powered observability

As AI-driven capabilities become more deeply embedded in software delivery and operations, the quality of observability data becomes even more important.

AI systems depend on accurate, contextualized data to generate insights and automate decisions. At the same time, organizations need to be able to explain and validate those decisions to maintain trust and accountability.

This requires a strong data foundation and a unified, context-driven platform approach that integrates high-fidelity log telemetry with metrics, traces, security events, user behavior, and business signals.

By combining the Dynatrace AI-powered observability platform with Bindplane’s telemetry pipeline capabilities, organizations can:

  • Improve the quality and consistency of observability data
  • Reduce noise and focus on the most relevant signals
  • Enable more accurate, explainable AI-driven insights
  • Maintain flexibility across multi-tool and multi-cloud environments

Together, this creates a more unified approach to managing telemetry and observability in the age of AI.

What this means for Dynatrace customers

With Bindplane, we are extending Dynatrace upstream into how telemetry is managed before it’s ingested and analyzed. Together, Dynatrace and Bindplane extend data collection from the edge through analytics, combining open-standards-based pipeline capabilities with AI-powered observability. This approach standardizes how inputs are processed across logs, metrics, traces, and events, giving customers the flexibility to route, transform, and analyze data at scale across observability, security, and analytics platforms.

With Bindplane, organizations can:

  • Modernize legacy logging and observability practices
  • Implement open standards such as OpenTelemetry with greater ease and effect
  • Optimize telemetry pipelines for cost, performance, and governance
  • Support a broader range of observability, security, and analytics use cases

Bindplane will remain a standalone offering, so existing customers can continue using its capabilities across a wide range of environments and destinations without disruption. Dynatrace intends to accelerate Bindplane’s roadmap through increased investment and deeper integration with the Dynatrace platform, delivering greater flexibility, access, and control of telemetry, resulting in faster innovation and greater value to customers.

Building trust in agentic AI: An observability‑led 90‑day action plan https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/agentic-ai-report-new-observability-strategy/ https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/agentic-ai-report-new-observability-strategy/#respond Thu, 05 Feb 2026 17:06:38 +0000 https://www.dynatrace.com/news/?p=73000 Pulse of Agentic AI Report - Action plan

Agentic AI is gaining traction quickly in pursuit of autonomous operations. But establishing the trust, reliability, and governance required to derive real business value is proving more challenging. New Dynatrace research suggests ways leaders can pair human oversight with observability as a real‑time control plane for scaling agentic AI safely from pilot to production.

Pulse of Agentic AI Report - Action plan

New research from Dynatrace reveals how organizations are adopting agentic AI to drive greater business value through automating operations. But as teams push toward AI‑driven automation at scale, they’re also confronting a core challenge: the variable, context-dependent nature of AI systems makes it difficult to establish the reliability, safety, and governance needed to fully realize ROI.

Context is key for AI systems to avoid losing track of instructions, hallucinating missing dependencies, or misinterpreting evolving system states—especially during extended multi‑step tasks. Some of the technical challenges AI agents present include:

  • Context fragmentation: As tasks grow more complex, agents cannot reliably hold, retrieve, or apply the full operational context they need for accurate decisions.
  • Unpredictable autonomy: Small gaps or inconsistencies in context can cause cascading errors that affect downstream systems, workflows, and data integrity.
  • Lack of verifiable control signals: Without real‑time, fact‑based grounding, agents cannot validate their own assumptions or detect deviations, making it extremely difficult for leaders to operationalize autonomy safely.

These issues explain why agentic AI is accelerating but still challenged to become “production‑ready” without a new foundational layer of observability, governance, and human oversight.

The emerging reality: What the 2026 Pulse of Agentic AI reveals

The 2026 Pulse of Agentic AI is a global survey of 919 senior leaders and decision makers directly involved in or responsible for agentic AI development and implementation. Results show that agentic AI is advancing rapidly but encountering structural barriers on the path to scalable autonomy.

  • Agentic AI is moving quickly from experimentation into real operations. Most organizations (72%) now run 2-10 agentic AI initiatives, and 50% have at least some production deployments. Adoption is strongest where reliability and risk sensitivity are highest: IT operations (70%), data processing (51%), and cybersecurity (49%), where automation can deliver fast, measurable gains.
  • Maturity is uneven. While investment is rising and expectations for ROI are high—44% have projects in broad adoption in select departments—only 23% have projects in mature, enterprise-wide adoption. The primary blocker is not ambition, but trust. Leaders cite security and data privacy (52%), and technical challenges (51%)—especially limited visibility into agent behavior and difficulty defining when agents can act autonomously versus when humans must intervene.
  • AI operations forge a new role for human oversight. Most agentic decisions are reviewed or validated by people (69%), and 44% rely on manual methods to monitor agent interactions—slowing scale and increasing operational risk. These findings make one conclusion clear: agentic AI cannot reach its potential through experimentation alone. Scaling autonomy requires stronger governance, clearer decision boundaries, and real‑time observability that connects AI behavior to system reliability and business outcomes.

From insight to execution: Why AI projects are stalling and how observability enables results

The research makes clear why many agentic AI initiatives stall before delivering full business value.

Leading organizations are already using observability as more than a monitoring tool

Observability is becoming the foundation for scaling agentic AI safely. Nearly seven in ten respondents apply observability during implementation to integrate agents with existing systems, monitor data quality, and detect anomalies. As agentic systems move into production, observability is increasingly used to track agent performance in real time, validate outputs, and correlate AI behavior with reliability, efficiency, and risk.

Observability data alone is not enough

At the same time, the research exposes a clear gap: many teams still rely on manual reviews to understand agent interactions, slowing scale and limiting trust. Respondents consistently point to limited real‑time visibility and weak connections between technical signals and business outcomes as barriers to autonomy.

Observability must become a fact-based control plane for agentic AI

This is the inflection point. Organizations that treat observability as a real‑time control plane—governing decisions, enforcing guardrails, and grounding AI actions in facts—are better positioned to expand autonomy with confidence. The following 90‑day action plan translates these proven practices into practical steps leaders can take now.

A 90‑day action plan for execs and IT leads

Operationalizing agentic AI requires moving deliberately—from experimentation to governed, observable autonomy. The first 90 days should focus on building AI trust, resilience, and measurable business impact.

days 1-30

Establish foundations and governance.

First, define clear decision boundaries for when agents can act autonomously versus when human approval is required.

Inventory active agentic AI initiatives, assess their business criticality, and identify where visibility gaps exist.

Stand up a baseline observability layer that instruments AI agents, workflows, and data paths, capturing logs, metrics, traces, and contextual signals among agents and infrastructure needed for validation and auditability.

days 31-60

Build trust and controlled autonomy.

Define clear roles for human‑in‑the‑loop operations, placing human judgment in the drivers’ seat for intent and accountability while agents perform tasks and perfect execution.

Set up observability‑driven data‑quality checks, drift detection, and alerts.

Promote observability from passive monitoring to active control by enforcing rules, detecting anomalous behavior in real time, and correlating agent actions with reliability, cost, and performance outcomes.

Secure two quick wins: Implement these trust factors for two high-criticality cases to harden these guardrails to create a template for other use cases.

days 61-90

Scale with confidence.

Graduate proven use cases from supervised to higher levels of autonomy, beginning with repeatable, high‑ROI workflows.

Embed AI observability into operational reviews and executive KPIs.

Establish a continuous improvement cycle to safely expand autonomous operations across the business.

The bottom line: Autonomy only scales with trust

Agentic AI is here—and it’s accelerating. The organizations that win the next phase of AI transformation will be those that implement autonomy with control to minimize risk:

  • Build incrementally, moving from supervised to autonomous operations
  • Ground all agent decisions in deterministic observability data
  • Redesign human roles to guide, not replace, human judgment
  • Treat reliability, safety, and transparency as business‑critical capabilities

With a well‑structured 90‑day plan, enterprises can convert experimentation into operational advantage—unlocking the resilience, scalability, and efficiency that agentic AI promises, while keeping humans firmly in control of outcomes.

Dynatrace and OpenTelemetry

Dynatrace principal developer advocate Adriana Villela is stepping up her involvement with the OpenTelemetry® community. As of today, she will be taking on the role of OpenTelemetry community manager, alongside Reese Lee of New Relic. They are joined by Julia Furst Morgado, of Dash0, who will serve as associate community manager, and will be taking over the role from Austin Parker of Honeycomb.

Community managers are appointed by the OpenTelemetry Governance Committee and act as public stewards of the contributor and end-user community. They’re responsible for organizing events, coordinating efforts to improve contributor experience, managing the OpenTelemetry presence on social media, and working to nurture and grow the OpenTelemetry community overall. Effectively, this is a project-maintainer role whose project is the OpenTelemetry community itself.

“I’m thrilled, then, that Adriana and Reese have stepped up to not only continue growing our community management role, but invest time in helping scope and shape this function for the project as it enters into its next era of growth,” said Austin in the official announcement, which was also made at OTel Unplugged in Brussels, Belgium, on February 2nd, 2026.

“As a community manager, I want to continue to raise the OpenTelemetry community profile within the Cloud Native Computing Foundation and the wider open-source world,” Adriana says.

The path to OpenTelemetry community leadership

Adriana’s journey with the OpenTelemetry community began in 2021 when she worked for Tucows, where she managed the platform engineering and observability teams. “I had dabbled a bit in observability when I was at my previous job as a release engineer at Ceridian, but when I stepped in as manager of the observability team at Tucows, to do right by my team and the organization, so I could lead them in the right direction,” she says. “I learned as much as I could about observability and OpenTelemetry projects, and I did it in public.” She documented her learnings in her Unpacking Observability series on Medium.

While at Tucows, Adriana made it her mission to move away from vendor lock-in and towards OpenTelemetry tools. But 2021 was still early days for the project. For example, traces weren’t yet generally available. To learn more about how to expand OpenTelemetry project use in a large enterprise, she connected with OpenTelemetry project co-founder Ted Young, then director of open source development at Lightstep, and Honeycomb field CTO Liz Fong-Jones, then developer advocate at Honeycomb. “Both Liz and Ted put aside their competitor differences to jump on a Q&A call with Tucows developers to answer their questions and concerns about OTel,” Adriana recalls.

Adriana’s writings caught Austin’s eye in 2022, and they hired her for her first developer relations role. As part of the role, she was encouraged to contribute to the OpenTelemetry community. When one of the original founders of the OpenTelemetry End User Working Group (later converted to a special interest group or SIG) left the project in 2023, Ted and Austin asked Adriana to help lead the group alongside Reese.

Together, Adriana and Reese raised the End User SIG’s profile by running monthly Open Telemetry livestreams, launched the Humans of Open Telemetry series, and collaborated with various other SIGs to gather end-user feedback through surveys. She also contributed to the CNCF OpenTelemetry Certified Associate (OTCA) certification.

The OpenTelemetry community has advanced significantly since Adriana began her exploration of the project, and it only continues to evolve. She points to the work around the Open Agent Management Protocol (OpAMP) for managing data collection agents such as the OpenTelemetry Collector, and the increased emphasis on the quality of telemetry data. Over the years, most of the major observability vendors have embraced OpenTelemetry tooling, both by supporting its data ingest format, OTLP, natively, and as by contributing to OpenTelemetry projects, making it the standard for instrumentation. “That tells me that it’s here to stay,” she says. “I can’t wait to see where the community takes it next.”

Reflections from the OpenTelemetry community on Villela’s impact

Comments from Adriana Villela’s fellow contributors on her engagement with the OTel community:

“Adriana is a tireless and omnipresent anchor of the OpenTelemetry community, whether it’s educating, building, or the organizing the end user SIG. My entry into the community was easy thanks to her efforts, and I’m sure countless others could say the same.”

— Josh Lee, Open Source Evangelist at Altinity

“I met Adriana at the very first OTel Unplugged in 2022, and together we developed the End User Working Group from a 3-person task force to the bigger and better End User SIG it is today (we’ve since added 2 more Maintainers!). I’m so stoked to be moving to the next stage of OTel community work alongside Adriana.”

— Reese Lee, Developer Relations Engineer and incoming OTel Community Manager, New Relic

“Adriana has a unique voice in the OpenTelemetry community, addressing current both end user and community challenges. Through her technical work and her public contributions in the open source observability ecosystem, Adriana connects with a wider audience: from developers to platform engineers or first time contributors. Her blog posts, conference talks and podcasts, help practitioners understand not just how OpenTelemetry works, but why it works the way it does, creating a trail of useful resources that anybody can use for onboarding or deepening specific topics.”

— Diana Todea, Developer Experience Engineer and OpenTelemetry contributor, Victoria Metrics

The pressure is high for enterprises to become “AI-first,” but as we explored in our inaugural Agentic AI Research Report, most organizations are stuck in pilot-mode. Many are struggling to achieve meaningful outcomes, even as they invest ever more heavily on AI.

AI success requires a shift in how we think about operations. We’re moving from a world of manual changes and troubleshooting to one of autonomous systems. Observability tooling needs to adapt to this new reality. It’s not enough to merely provide insights into a system. Organizations need platforms that enable agents to act upon intelligence safely and reliably. That’s why Dynatrace has evolved into an agentic operations platform that enables autonomous, intelligent collaboration across development, operations, and business workflows.

At our flagship event Perform 2026, we’re expanding our platform to deliver the following capabilities that will carry organizations into the human + AI collaboration era.

Dynatrace Intelligence: The new foundation for reliable agentic AI

Dynatrace Intelligence Marketecture

Organizations struggle with the growing complexity of cloud and AI‑driven digital ecosystems. Leaders have valid concerns about hallucinations, unreliable multi‑step agent workflows, and the inability of off-the-shelf models to process petabytes of heterogeneous observability data.

The solution isn’t to throw more AI at the problem and hope for the best. Simply adding AI agents to legacy workflows doesn’t work. Closing this gap requires an AI system that doesn’t just bolt onto workflows but rethinks how decisions are made and actions are automated.

Dynatrace Intelligence is an agentic operations system at the core of the Dynatrace platform and serves as the reasoning and decision-making layer for all the agentic layers built upon it. It fuses deterministic AI with contextual analytics to ground agentic decisions in real‑time facts and to create more reliable agentic workflows. It also coordinates different kinds of agents while minimizing hallucinations so organizations can trust automated actions.

The new Smartscape®: A source of truth for AI

Smartscape

Modern IT teams often operate with only a partial understanding of what’s running in their environment, especially as cloud‑native architectures, Kubernetes, and adaptive AI agents expand and shift at runtime. You can’t troubleshoot, secure, or optimize what you can’t see. This incomplete picture slows incident response, drives misaligned investments, and increases risk.

The new Smartscape® real-time dependency graph creates a shared, real‑time source of truth that both humans and AI agents use to understand what is actually happening across the environment and to act with confidence. It provides a precise, always‑current view of every entity and dependency in your digital ecosystem, including cloud and Kubernetes objects, domain‑specific metadata, and agentless cloud‑discovered components. The new Smartscape® capability underpins Dynatrace Intelligence, providing the context needed to empower teams and agents to act with confidence, using real‑time topology to detect changes, assess impact, and respond automatically.

From reactive to proactive with agents

Far too many IT teams are forever stuck in firefighting mode. They’re so busy troubleshooting existing systems that they have no time to understand why issues keep recurring or how to prevent them. Signals flood in faster than humans can interpret them, incidents surface without context, and critical decisions must be made with only fragments of the real picture. In this chaos, teams are forced into reactive loops that drain capacity, slow innovation, and make reliable operations nearly impossible.

Dynatrace Intelligence Agents are designed to break this cycle. Whether you use our own ready-made agents or build your own, the Dynatrace Intelligence agentic ecosystem provides the capabilities to continuously detect changes, assess impact, and automatically respond to emerging conditions, helping organizations shift from firefighting to proactive operations.

This is how the Dynatrace platform goes beyond insight, advancing to autonomous action by auto-remediating, auto-preventing and auto-optimizing.

Dynatrace Assist: Your portal into the agentic universe

Identify open problems and gain guided remediation for a problem.
Identify open problems and receive guided remediation.

Modern IT teams aren’t lacking in data or metrics. The problem is that they must jump between different dashboards, tools, and consoles to understand their systems and find the information they need. This slows investigation, increases cognitive load, and leads to delays, misdiagnoses, and inconsistent decisions.

We’re launching Dynatrace Assist to eliminate this constant context switching. Assist brings the full power of Dynatrace Intelligence to your fingertips. Instead of moving between dashboards, queries, and tools, you simply start by asking a question and let Dynatrace Intelligence do the work. Assist pulls together context from the Dynatrace Grail® unified data lakehouse, maps relationships utilizing the Smartscape® real-time dependency graph, and collaborates in context with Dynatrace agents.

As AI becomes a collaborative partner rather than a separate tool, Assist provides the conversational interface that brings agentic intelligence directly into human workflows—reducing cognitive load and enabling natural, real‑time co‑reasoning.

End-to-end intelligence with next generation Dynatrace RUM

Even the smartest agentic systems need to understand how real users experience your applications. Backend signals alone can’t reveal where friction occurs, how users navigate modern single‑page and mobile experiences, or which issues matter most to the business.

The next‑generation Dynatrace Real User Monitoring closes this gap with Grail-powered analytics that unifies frontend behavior with backend intelligence. It automatically captures modern user interaction patterns and couples them with precise, real‑time system insights, enabling teams and agents to detect issues faster, prioritize what truly impacts customers, and optimize digital experiences with confidence.

Dynatrace MCP Server: The connective tissue between agentic systems and Dynatrace Intelligence

Modern AI assistants and automated workflows are being asked to make high stakes decisions without access to the complete, real-time context of the systems they’re meant to support. Fragmented data, disconnected telemetry, and incomplete understanding of how services relate prevent AI from making reliable recommendations or taking safe autonomous actions.

The Dynatrace MCP Server provides the governed bridge between AI ecosystems outside of Dynatrace and the production‑grade insights generated by Dynatrace Intelligence. Using the open Model Context Protocol, it delivers real‑time insights directly into agentic workflows. This gives autonomous agents and other AI tools the observability truth they need to reason accurately, take decisive actions, and operate safely at scale.

Building the future of autonomous operations

Perform 2026 marks a turning point for agentic AI Adoption. We’re shifting from human‑paced management of systems into a world where systems anticipate, adapt, and advance on their own. For the first time, organizations can operate with an intelligence layer that doesn’t wait to be directed but collaborates, reasons, and evolves in real time. Teams will finally be able to focus on the work that moves them forward, rather than the work that holds them back.

Executives are looking for successful ways to run their digital ecosystems with AI as cloud and AI adoption reach unprecedented complexity. Organizations are increasingly recognizing that agentic AI on its own can’t deliver the consistent, trustworthy outcomes they expect. With 65% of enterprises investing in AI‑driven monitoring and automation, leaders now need trustworthy AI‑powered observability to shift from human‑driven operations to human‑supervised, autonomous digital ecosystems.

Key executive insights

  • Alongside the rapid adoption of agentic AI, Dynatrace is uniquely architected for powering real‑time autonomous operations across organizations’ digital systems while also integrating seamlessly into broader agentic ecosystems.
  • Dynatrace – pioneer of large-scale AI-powered root cause analysis – established predictive operations and now further redefines observability, taking the next step from automation to autonomous action by auto-remediating, auto-preventing and auto-optimizing.
  • Dynatrace takes the guesswork out of AI by optimizing the balance between deterministic AI, contextual analytics, and stochastic AI to drive precise agentic answers and reliable actions.
  • Dynatrace Intelligence is an agentic operations system in the Dynatrace platform, driving autonomous actions through orchestrating ready-made Dynatrace agents as well as external ecosystem agents.
  • AI engineering, AI operations, agentic SRE get enabled by Dynatrace with real-time production feedback-loops from trusted AI.

Minimizing hallucinations and avoiding large language model data processing limits

One of the biggest fears of executives who build agentic frameworks is that generative AI can hallucinate and push their agents off course. CTOs also prioritize ensuring agentic systems have instant access to high‑quality information, so multi‑step agent workflows can execute quickly and reliably.

Hallucinations aren’t minor errors – they can trigger wrong actions leading to outages, security risks, and financial exposure. To make it worse, in agentic processing inaccuracies can accumulate and amplify.

The Dynatrace AI approach reduces the risk of hallucinations by maximizing the use of deterministic AI in its agents, allowing Dynatrace to deliver responses based on real-time data rather than probabilistic guesses. Also, Dynatrace continuously observes, maintains, and enriches this context through real-time dependency graphs, real-world context, and high-performance data lakehouse analytics—fueling precise analytics and real-time answers across the entire digital services and business landscape.

This level of contextual precision is critical because large language models cannot directly process petabytes of heterogeneous observability data. Their context windows are limited, and performance often degrades as input approaches the maximum length.

Dumping large amounts of data into AI requests can reduce quality. Models have finite context windows and can underweight important details in very long prompts. Curating and structuring only the most relevant information generally yield better results than providing everything at once.

To overcome these constraints, it’s essential to rapidly distill vast amounts of data into short, high-quality context—this is where contextual analytics, dependency graphs, and the AI-optimized data lakehouse Grail become critical differentiators.

Real-time analytics with instant visualization of dependencies and interactions

Agentic AI depends not only on the model it runs on but on the quality, context, and immediacy of the data it receives—real‑time, fact‑based inputs are essential to keep pace with agentic decision‑making.

Grail, the Dynatrace data lakehouse, provides this foundation by unifying observability, security, and business data at an exabyte scale. Its schema‑on‑read approach removes indexing overhead and enables any‑question, any‑time analytics of Grail data. Grail processes metrics, logs, traces, user behavior, security events, and business signals alongside directed dependency graphs, delivering deep insights instantly through zero‑latency, always-hydrated storage.

Complementing this, Dynatrace Smartscape continuously refines a real-time dependency graph of real-world dependencies across business, teams, digital services, processes, infrastructure, risks, and more. By dynamically uncovering both vertical and horizontal dependencies, Smartscape enables teams to understand how systems, business processes, and organizational structures interact. The latest generation of Smartscape real-time dependency graph can now also be augmented with custom entities, such as business data types, ownership information, and other meta-data and ownership details, so teams immediately know who to notify for fast, fact-based remediation.

Together, Grail and Smartscape provide the technical foundation for Dynatrace Intelligence to let agentic AI act on facts, not guesses, ensuring that AI-powered decisions are accurate, scalable, and actionable, a pre-requisite for reliable autonomous operations.

Dynatrace Intelligence

Dynatrace Intelligence is an agentic operations system at the core of the Dynatrace platform that fuses deterministic AI with agentic AI to drive a new level of reliability across observability and autonomous operations. It provides a unified intelligence layer where humans define the goals, and AI executes them with precision—guided by policies, context, and guardrails.

At the foundation are deterministic agents that create a highly reliable operational core. The Root Cause Agent, powered by deterministic causal AI, delivers answers with far greater speed and precision than LLM‑only approaches. The Analytics Agent distills petabytes of Grail data lakehouse data into concise, contextual intelligence, while the Forecasting Agent scales predictive capabilities across the environment. An Operator Agent oversees, orchestrates, and coordinates agentic team efforts to ensure optimal outcomes. These foundational agents power every other agent operating on the platform.

Building on this foundation are ready‑made, domain‑specific agents designed to extend and augment the work of Development, SRE, and Security teams. This fusion of deterministic AI, agentic AI, and specialized domain agents enables Dynatrace Intelligence to detect anomalies, predict issues, identify root causes, run complementary investigations, and plan and execute corrective actions—ultimately enabling auto‑prevention, auto‑remediation, and auto‑optimization.

Dynatrace already observes customers’ digital services, end‑user experiences, and AI stacks automatically, making these domain agents immediately impactful. As examples, for developers, Dynatrace detects rising mobile‑app crashes, analyzes the code paths, and produces an immediate fix suggestion—turning what used to take hours into seconds. For security teams, Dynatrace continuously monitors emerging threats and instantly checks the environment for related vulnerabilities or indicators of compromise, helping teams respond proactively before attackers can act.

New Assist Agents simplify the adoption and everyday use of Dynatrace, while Agentic Workflows empower customers to build their own agents.

Dynatrace Intelligence is here not only to remediate symptoms—like a production infrastructure overload—but also to detect the underlying root cause and generate actionable plans to fix the source of the issue.

Dynatrace Intelligence Marketecture

AI-powered observability from Dynatrace enables the next generation software delivery life cycle process with AI engineering, AI operations, agentic SRE, and AI business analytics, through real-time facts from production systems.

Already today, Dynatrace Intelligence agents collectively power a wide range of real‑world use cases, from mobile app crash inspection and front‑end error explanation to infrastructure optimization, Kubernetes operations, and security‑context insights. They also accelerate tasks like anomaly and log‑pattern analysis, vulnerability validation, timeseries analysis, and even dashboard creation, with extensible workflows that let teams expand these capabilities as their needs grow.

Dynatrace Intelligence also coordinates a bi-directional interaction with the agentic ecosystem like AWS Kiro, GitHub Copilot, ServiceNow, Azure SRE agent, Atlassian Rovo and many others – e.g. submitting tickets, invoking a coding agent, assessing the risk of a new deployment, adjusting infrastructure, informing business workflows. It also responds when other systems request, for example, incident details, performance insights, business impact analysis, or resilience risk assessments.

Along with Dynatrace Intelligence, Dynatrace leads customers on a journey toward fully autonomous operations.

Journey to fully autonomous operations

Each organization goes through their own maturity stages and pace on the journey to autonomous operation; for the majority it can look like this:

Automated – a stage when an organization’s digital system executes pre‑defined workflows and actions automatically (based on AI‑generated answers) to support both reactive and predictive operations. I can say that currently, many organizations are striving to get to this stage or are already in it.

Digital systems must be automatable and observable. To validate this, workflows must be testable:

  • Can you automate it?
  • Can you observe it?
  • Can you understand its behavior in real time?

Organizations don’t need to automate every single workflow. Once it’s possible to confirm that key use cases are both automatable and observable, organizations can progress to the next maturity stage.

Supervised Autonomous – in this stage, AI generates execution‑ready action plans with clear reasoning and acts only after human oversight and approval. In a “crawl‑walk‑run” approach, organizations start with small, repetitive tasks that require agentic AI instead of hard-coded workflows.

Key principles in evaluating ability for supervised autonomous operations:

  • Reliability: For reliable decisions and actions, rely as much as possible on deterministic AI and analytics, and leverage generative AI for common sense and learned expertise.
  • Transparency: Allow people to set goals and guardrails for AI, validate reasoning, review knowledge graphs, improve real-time feedback loops, and assess explanations to build trust.
  • Feedback loop: Agentic AI relies on accurate factual inputs to create actionable plans, as well as precise real-time feedback to investigate plan details, refine them and validate execution.

Once the digital system consistently performs with human‑like review discipline, the organization is ready to move toward fully autonomous operations.

Fully Autonomous – in the future, fully autonomous stage, Dynatrace Intelligence acts independently to fulfill business goals and autonomously operates a wide range of aspects in successfully delivering software that end-users expect, requesting human input only when necessary. As much as Dynatrace uses AI to observe other AI within the cloud- and AI-native services customers run, it also continuously observes itself—to self-optimize, ensure compliance, and provide insights that help people set the goals. People still play a crucial role: they review outcomes, adjust goals, and refine instructions. As a result, organizations deliver and operate software with higher resilience, happier customers, and lower cost.

The fusion of deterministic AI and agentic AI sets Dynatrace apart by providing a reliable agentic AI-powered observability. It is an AI that observes other AI and helps organizations to build more resilient applications and better customer experiences.

Dynatrace and DevCycle

Modern software teams are shipping faster than ever. With cloud-native architectures, AI-powered development, fast releases, and continuous delivery pipelines, new features flow continuously from commit through development and testing into production in minutes.

While release velocity has accelerated, release risk has not disappeared. As modern software environments grow more complex, releases have become harder to understand and riskier to manage, placing increasing strain on developer experience while forcing organizations to balance rapid innovation with the reliability that customers expect.

That’s why Dynatrace has acquired DevCycle, a feature management platform built on the OpenFeature standard, to help developers, SREs, and platform teams bring progressive delivery for AI-native applications directly into the Dynatrace platform.

Why feature management matters in modern delivery

Feature flags are a core control plane for progressive delivery including:

  • Canary deployments
  • Blue-green releases
  • Experimentation
  • Rapid mitigation when something breaks

Feature flags are frequently used as standalone control mechanisms, allowing teams to change application behavior without clear visibility into the consequences of those changes. While teams can toggle features instantly, they lack direct insight into how each decision affects performance, reliability, and user experience in real time.

What DevCycle adds to Dynatrace

DevCycle brings enterprise-grade feature management built on OpenFeature, the open standard that Dynatrace helped establish. Together, Dynatrace and DevCycle will enable teams to:

  • Reduce risk: Release features to small cohorts, validating behavior, and scaling gradually based upon real-time performance and error monitoring.
  • Experimentation: Compare feature variants, models, or prompts using real traffic and real telemetry instead of offline assumptions.
  • Improve MTTR: Use Dynatrace causal analysis to quickly pinpoint when a specific feature is driving an incident, and act immediately.
  • Improve developer experience and flow: Give developers a fast, intuitive way to ship, test, and control features with immediate feedback from production telemetry.

Built on OpenFeature

Dynatrace recognized the importance of progressive delivery early by initiating and leading the OpenFeature standard in 2022. It is now a CNCF project and the industry’s open vendor-neutral standard for feature flagging.

Because DevCycle is OpenFeature-native, customers can use Dynatrace with DevCycle or with any OpenFeature-compliant feature flag system. This preserves openness, avoids lock-in, and gives teams flexibility as their platforms evolve.

Feature flags and observability in practice

Dynatrace brings together development, operations, and business teams to deliver software more efficiently, securely, and reliably. By integrating feature flagging, teams gain a single, contextual view of intent, execution, and outcome across the software development lifecycle.

Practical examples include:

  • Roll out a new checkout flow only to premium users and immediately observe performance, errors, and conversion impact.
  • Automatically disable a feature for a specific region if Dynatrace detects degradation.
  • Test new AI prompts to compare latency, quality, and user behavior in real time.

This integration enables advanced use cases such as real-time, health-driven feature control and experimentation while integrating naturally into AI-assisted workflows. For example, an AI assistant can query the Dynatrace MCP Server to understand blast radius and KPI impact, then safely reduce exposure or disable a feature without redeploying code. By unifying feature management and experimentation with real-time observability, AI-powered insights, and automation, teams can make precise changes to application behavior without redeployments or manual intervention.

What’s next

This acquisition further advances observability into an active system of control. By integrating the precise runtime controls and centralized feature concept from DevCycle with comprehensive insights from Dynatrace, we will move closer to realizing our vision of an intelligent resilience platform capable of self-remediation, prevention, and continual optimization.

We are already working to integrate DevCycle capabilities into Dynatrace. Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for being part of the Dynatrace community!

Rising cybersecurity risks in the public sector

Modern public sector organizations manage and store increasingly large volumes of sensitive data, elevating cloud security as a top priority. At the same time, these organizations face mounting pressure to innovate and modernize, all while maintaining rigorous standards for data protection and regulatory compliance.

Qualification of cloud infrastructure and services is a central pillar of the Italian Cloud Strategy, issued by the Department for Digital Transformation and the Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale (ACN). The strategy provides guidelines for migrating data and digital services of the Italian Public Administration to the cloud, ensuring that security and resilience are foundational at every stage.

To this end, the Italian government—through ACN—has established a robust framework for qualifying cloud solutions that manage all levels of public sector data and workloads. This framework ensures that only providers who meet strict criteria for security, reliability, and transparency are eligible to serve the public administration. The QC1 certification, in particular, is designed to simplify, regulate, and secure how cloud services are acquired by Italian administrative bodies. It aligns with the objectives of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which aims to plan, coordinate, and implement measures to make Italy safer and more resilient.

For technology vendors, achieving ACN QC1 is not merely a regulatory requirement; it is a demonstration of trustworthiness and a prerequisite for participating in Italy’s digital future. Without this qualification, cloud solutions will not be considered by public sector entities—ultimately limiting both innovation and public benefit.

Confidence where it counts

Key insights

  • Confidence where it counts: Real time, contextual data turns AI from a black box into decisions you can see, explain, and trust.
  • Outcomes, not features: Teams reduce risk, control cost, and improve answer quality by grounding AI in better data and context.
  • Role-based paths: Leaders, platform and SRE, AI engineering and ML ops, application developers, and security each have clear ways to act.
  • Dynatrace 3rd generation foundation: Grail unifies telemetry, Smartscape maps live dependencies, and Davis AI turns insight into explainable actions.

The shift is underway

Your AI helped ship a feature customers love. Then a bad answer slips through, support tickets rise, and no one can explain why. Was it a model change, a prompt tweak, or missing context from an upstream service? When AI behaves like a black box, you cannot manage risk, cost, or trust.

You’re not alone. Budgets and expectations reflect the push to make AI observable and accountable. In our 2025 State of Observability data, 70% of organizations increased observability spend in the last year, and 75% expect to increase it again. Leaders often see the biggest returns from optimizing model configurations, detecting anomalies in model outputs, and automating remediation. Most believe that AI decisions still require a human check because proof matters.

At Dynatrace, we believe the difference is the data. Grail keeps observability, security, and business telemetry together in real-time, connected context. Smartscape maintains a real-time map of services, dependencies, and releases. Davis AI reasons over this context to explain cause and effect and suggest what to do next. Together they make AI explainable and governable, so teams can move faster without losing trust.

Here’s how your teams can build confidence in AI

Choose models with real context

Run evaluations on real workloads, not synthetic tests. Compare latency, cost per answer, and relevancy side by side, then use prompt traces to see why outputs differ. Your team picks the right AI model for the job with evidence, not guesswork. Use canary rollouts to validate the winning configuration on a small slice of traffic, then scale with confidence while a policy records who approved the change.

  • This showcases: AI model evaluation and versioning across providers, prompt tracing and debugging, cost and performance insights tied to real services.

Explain every decision on demand

Capture inputs, prompts, context, and model versions so you can show how a decision was made. Export an auditable bundle, attach it to your review, and keep evidence with the workflow. Approvals move faster because proof is built in. Evidence travels with the workflow so leaders can audit decisions without meetings.

  • This showcases: Exportable audit evidence, lineage across prompts and context, review-ready artifacts for governance.

Spot and prevent drift

Watch for quality changes after releases or upstream shifts in agentic AI systems that span multiple models. Because data lives together in Grail and dependencies are mapped in Smartscape, Davis AI detects drift, explains the likely root cause, and recommends next steps. Your team rolls back or tunes with confidence and documents the outcome.

  • This showcases: End-to-end drift detection and explanation across services and models, causal analysis tied to releases, and actionable root cause context.

Move fast with guardrails

Set policy rules that pause risky paths for humans and promote safe improvements automatically. When a policy is triggered, the flow pauses for approval. When targets are met, changes move forward on their own. Speed and accountability rise together.

  • This showcases: Policy-driven automation, human-in-the-loop controls, measurable targets for quality and cost.

One place to work, together

Platform and SRE, AI engineering and ML ops, developers, and security see the same facts and act in the same space. A built-in experience brings multi-cloud and multi-model views together with alerts, traces, and reviews. Teams focus on outcomes because data and context are already aligned, and agentic tracing makes complex multi-LLM paths explainable.

  • This showcases: Unified, role-aware experience in the Dynatrace 3rd generation platform, powered by Grail for data, Smartscape for live topology and dependencies, and Davis AI for reasoning.

How it works

Dynatrace brings key, differentiated capabilities together, so AI becomes observable, governable, and improvable. Grail stores and relates telemetry with context as a single source of truth. Smartscape maps real-time topology and dependencies. Davis AI analyzes that knowledge to explain issues, correlate cause and effect, and drive or recommend actions. These explainable insights show up in built-in experiences so teams can act quickly in one place, with the same context everyone trusts. Together, they give you a glass-box view of AI across your environment.

Use cases you can try today

Platform Engineering and SRE

Use progressive delivery to your advantage and run a canary release with two model versions on a real service. Compare key metrics and data points, such as latency and error rates, then set an automated rollback if quality drifts beyond the threshold.

AI engineering and ML ops

A/B test two providers for a summarization workload. Measure token usage, cost per answer, and relevancy. Use prompt debugging to tune instructions, then promote the winning configuration.

Application developers

Trace a problematic response from UI to model call. Inspect the prompt, context, and dependencies, then commit a configuration change to fix a latency regression.

Security and compliance

Export an audit bundle for a high-risk workflow. Attach it to your review ticket and record a human approval step. Automate export on schedule.

The market signal

Leaders are investing to make AI observable and governable. From our 2025 State of Observability report, 70% increased observability budgets last year, with 75% of those surveyed planning to increase again next year. Teams expect the biggest return from optimizing model configurations, detecting anomalies in model outputs, and automated remediation. Ninety-eight percent already use AI to support security compliance.

What this means for your organization

For leaders

  • Improve decision quality with model evaluations grounded in a real workload context.
  • Reduce risk with audit trails that satisfy compliance.
  • Control spend by measuring cost next to performance.

For Platform Engineering and SRE teams

  • Standardize model rollouts with versioning and repeatable A/B tests.
  • Tie prompt traces to services, releases, and alerts to cut MTTR.
  • Automate safe rollbacks or configuration changes with policy guardrails.

For AI engineering and ML ops

  • Compare models and versions on latency, cost per answer, and relevancy.
  • Use prompt debugging to tune instructions and ground responses in context.
  • Track drift and trigger-governed actions when quality drops.

For application developers

  • See how AI components behave in production next to service health.
  • Debug prompts without leaving the release context.
  • Ship changes with data on performance and cost impact.

For security and compliance

  • Export signed audit trails that show inputs, outputs, models, and context.
  • Prove who did what, when, and why for policy and regulatory reviews.
  • Route risky outputs for human approval and record the decision.

In Formula One, milliseconds decide outcomes. Teams that can make sense of complexity, trust their data, and act with precision have the edge. That is why the Dynatrace partnership with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) is so powerful. It demonstrates how the same principles that fuel performance on the track are essential for success in digital business.

Shared values of performance obsession

VCARB embodies a culture of performance obsession, where every decision and detail contributes to results on race day. At Dynatrace, we share that same mindset. Our platform helps the world’s leading enterprises navigate complexity with AI-powered observability and automation, so they can deliver the innovation their customers expect.

Data as the ultimate differentiator

A modern F1 car generates terabytes of telemetry every race weekend. Thousands of sensors monitor everything from tire temperature to fuel flow. With cars often separated by only milliseconds, every team must translate their competitive data into insight and make the right call at exactly the right moment.

The parallels to business are clear. Enterprises today face similarly complex ecosystems, with millions of data points streaming from applications, infrastructure, and user interactions. Success comes when organizations can unify that data, analyze it in real time, and act decisively.

Bringing the partnership to life

As the official observability and performance analytics partner of VCARB, we celebrate our shared focus on performance and went behind the scenes with the VCARB team to learn more about their focus and determination on and off the track. We invite you to learn more about our technology partnership, captured in our “Data to Drive” video, highlighting our shared values and the role of trusted data in driving results.

These stories showcase the human spirit behind the technology, reminding us that whether on the pit wall, the datacenter, or in the boardroom, performance comes from the combination of data, intelligence, and people working in sync towards a common mission.

VCARB CEO Peter Bayer underscores this when he says, “that’s where Dynatrace is extremely helpful, because you (Dynatrace) analyze the data and make sure you are observing the right areas of that data, which is critical for success in F1.”

Looking ahead

The Dynatrace + VCARB partnership shows what becomes possible when intelligent automation and performance obsession come together. For VCARB, that means fighting for every fraction of a second on race day. For our customers, it means building the confidence to innovate, adapt, and win in the digital era.

We are proud to support VCARB, and we are excited to continue telling the story of how Dynatrace helps teams on the track and across industries turn complexity into performance.

Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking with Tiernan Ray for The Technology Letter (subscribers can read here), where we discussed how observability is transforming and how Dynatrace is navigating industry changes. I wanted to take a moment to expand on the key themes we touched on in our conversation.

Observability is no longer just for IT Ops

Observability is no longer just about monitoring IT systems. It’s about understanding and automating the entire digital ecosystem. From developers leveraging platform engineering tools to optimize application performance, to Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) ensuring resilience, and executives gaining critical business insights, observability increases the velocity of innovation across every level of an organization.

Today, observability is integral to the entire software development lifecycle. It’s not just for IT Ops but a critical capability for platform engineering, SREs, developers, as well as business and IT executives. In fact, Observability for Developers was a major focus for us at Perform 2025, and will continue to be an area of investment and value to our customers. Developers are increasingly embedding observability directly into their applications, allowing them to analyze performance in real-time and optimize accordingly. This shift is driving increased adoption of the Dynatrace platform, as our customers leverage our unified observability solution—powered by Grail, our hyperscale data lakehouse, designed to store, process, and query massive volumes of observability, security, and business data with high efficiency and speed.

At Perform 2025, we showcased how real-time observability empowers developers to shift from reactive troubleshooting to proactive performance optimization. By embedding observability into their applications, developers can improve performance, reduce downtime, and enhance user experience—all before issues impact customers.

Customers win with consolidation

The observability space has seen significant consolidation in recent years. While market shifts can create uncertainty, they also provide customers with the opportunity to simplify toolsets, reduce operational complexity, and increase visibility across teams.

In today’s AI-powered world, business can no longer afford siloed visibility. A unified observability platform analyzes every transaction, automates responses at the speed of AI, and enables innovation without limits–helping teams move from reactive remediation to proactive optimization.

Leveraging a single source of truth for IT, security, and business insights allows teams to shift focus from managing multiple integrations to performance optimization and driving the business forward.

This consolidation also drives innovation in the observability market, as fewer, stronger providers invest heavily in enhancing capabilities, automation, and AI-powered insights. Customers benefit from platforms that are more robust, interoperable, and capable of delivering end-to-end visibility across their environments.

AI and intelligent automation

Looking ahead, we are laser-focused on AI-driven operations and cloud automation. As organizations accelerate AI adoption, they need reliable ways to monitor and optimize AI workloads. One of our customers, Northwestern Mutual, recently shared that using Dynatrace helped them accelerate AI workload performance by 60%, which is a testament to how observability is enabling the future of IT.

A final thought

The world of observability is evolving rapidly, and we are excited about the road ahead. As market dynamics shift, Dynatrace is uniquely positioned to help organizations drive efficiency, automation, and performance at scale.

A big thank you to Tiernan Ray for the insightful conversation and for covering our journey at Dynatrace.

Dynatrace and Metis

If you’re a developer who has ever had to troubleshoot a database issue, you know how frustrating it can be. One slow query, an inefficient index, or a schema misstep can grind an application to a halt. And with cloud-native databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL, the complexity only grows. Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) also face significant challenges in maintaining database reliability, ensuring performance, and preventing disruptions in highly dynamic and distributed environments. That’s why I’m thrilled to welcome Metis to Dynatrace.

Metis has built an AI-driven database observability platform designed for developers and SREs. Their technology provides expert-level recommendations for SQL statements, vector search queries, indices, and database schemas, along with automated remediation actions. By integrating Metis into the Dynatrace platform, we’re accelerating our comprehensive approach to database observability, giving teams powerful tools to proactively manage and optimize databases, reduce downtime, and keep applications running smoothly.

Why this matters

Databases are the backbone of modern applications, but they can also be a major source of performance bottlenecks. Developers today are expected to ship features at lightning speed while also being responsible for database health, an area that traditionally required deep expertise.

With Metis, we’re making database troubleshooting as seamless as any other part of the DevOps workflow. Imagine having an AI-powered assistant that not only identifies performance issues but also suggests optimizations and automates fixes. For SREs, this means better proactive monitoring, fewer database-related incidents, and greater stability in production environments. That’s exactly what we’re bringing to life with Metis.

A shared vision

At Dynatrace, we’ve built a comprehensive observability platform that already includes deep database visibility, the Top Database Statements view, and Grail for unified data storage and analysis. Dynatrace recognized as top innovative company by trend. and Statista, reflecting our culture of innovation

We’re proud to announce that Dynatrace has been ranked the top innovative company in Austria for 2025. The recognition comes from German market research platform Statista in cooperation with the Austrian weekly business magazine, trend. (Top 20 international companies tab.) We’re especially honored because we feel this recognition reflects our culture of innovation.

As a global IT observability and security provider, Dynatrace helps hundreds of companies in dozens of industries deliver seamless, secure, and high-performing digital services. Although Dynatrace has its headquarters in Massachusetts and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:DT), the epicenter of product design and creation is in Linz, Austria, where the company was founded in 2005.

Key to this recognition as a uniquely global company is an agile and scalable approach to creativity.

Innovating with passion—at scale

At Dynatrace, innovation is one of our core values. “You have to reinvent yourself as a company every seven years,” Dynatrace CTO and co-founder Bernd Greifeneder recently told trend. As the company has grown to more than 4,700 employees, Greifeneder’s team has designed an agile and autonomous approach to innovation at scale. With a core team always working on the next-generation product, Dynatrace continuously rolls out innovations, one sprint at a time.

For example, Dynatrace completely reinvented its platform in 2015 into a cloud-native, multi-tenant software-as-a-service (SaaS). The company also introduced its proprietary Davis® AI engine. Davis has evolved to use a unique power-of-three approach to AI that combines causal, predictive, and generative AI. This combination pinpoints the root causes of IT issues, predicts where problems may arise, and enables teams to automate, optimize, and innovate. As a result, Dynatrace customers can deliver better user experiences and improved bottom lines for the business.

A culture of innovation

Since its founding, Dynatrace has fostered a culture of innovation. “We register around 15 inventions a year,” Greifeneder told trend., “and we currently have 150 patents.” These innovations come with inventor bonuses that recognize individuals and teams. He also cited the research programs Dynatrace is pursuing with key partners and universities.

We believe our commitment to innovation has also helped Dynatrace earn industry-wide recognition, including being named a Leader in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Observability Platforms for the 14th consecutive time. Most recently, we were also named a Leader in both the inaugural 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Digital Experience Monitoring and the GigaOm Radar Report for Kubernetes Observability.

Abstract image depicting unlocking business potential with Dynatrace using power dashboarding

We are in the era of data explosion, hybrid and multicloud complexities, and AI growth. In this dynamic landscape, imagine understanding your digital environment every day—what’s working, what’s not, what may have an issue, and more importantly, how to solve it? Picture gaining insights into your business from the perspective of your users. What new possibilities would open up for your organization?

This isn’t about imagining what’s possible just because it’s possible. It’s about uncovering insights that move business forward. This is what companies like BT and TD Bank have achieved by leveraging Dynatrace.

What’s behind it all? The Dynatrace platform automatically captures and maps metrics, logs, traces, events, user experience data, and security signals into a single datastore, performing contextual analytics through a “power of three AI”—combining causal, predictive, and generative AI. Dynatrace analyzes billions of interconnected data points to deliver answers, not just data and dashboards sending signals without a path to resolution.

With over 2.5 quintillion bytes of data generated daily, managing this influx has far surpassed human capacity. Dynatrace transforms this unstructured data into a strategic advantage, processing it automatically—no manual tagging required.

Unlike traditional observability tools that merely bark signals through dashboards without real context, the Dynatrace AI-driven approach goes deeper. It delivers precise, actionable insights to help you understand what’s truly happening in complex environments and resolve issues in real time. It empowers teams to act proactively rather than reactively. And it enables executives to have unprecedented insight into how user experiences, applications and underlying infrastructure health can power their business.

Let’s explore how leading organizations have harnessed the power of end-to-end observability—to reduce costs, drive innovation and acceleration, and deliver exceptional experiences for their customers. You’ll see how a clear line of sight across your entire technology stack can be transformative and learn how to apply these lessons to your own business.

Breaking down complexity with unified observability

In today’s landscape, it’s imperative to know the health of your digital business. But many enterprises face escalating complexity across their digital environments, leading to visibility gaps and inefficiencies using their traditional toolsets. BT, the UK’s largest mobile and fixed broadband provider, faced this challenge when managing multiple monitoring tools across different teams. By consolidating their tools into Dynatrace, they were able to reduce outage times and digital incidents by 50%. This meant better service reliability, reduced costs, and less time spent on incident management—enabling their teams to focus on innovation.

Leveraging AI-driven automation to innovate faster

As its business expanded, TD Bank encountered challenges with frequent IT incidents and slow resolution times, which were creating inefficiencies in their operations. To improve this, they turned to Dynatrace for AI-driven automation to accelerate problem detection and resolution.

By automating root-cause analysis, TD Bank reduced incidents, speeding up resolution times and maintaining system reliability. The result? More time for teams to focus on developing new services and improving customer experience, all while keeping operational costs under control. This ability to innovate faster has given TD Bank a competitive edge in a complex market.

The Power of Possible: Uncovering insights that move business forward

These stories illustrate how leading organizations leverage Dynatrace to achieve real business impact. For BT, simplifying their observability strategy led to faster issue resolution and reduced costs. TD Bank’s AIOps capabilities meant more proactive service management, keeping customers satisfied.

At Dynatrace, we believe that anything is possible for our customers, and we are committed to helping them move beyond simply managing their digital businesses. Our goal is to empower customers with insights that enhance user experiences and drive business growth. As organizations like BT and TD Bank navigate the complexities of modern IT environments, we are humbled to be their trusted partner, helping to turn data into action and transform challenges into opportunities.

In a world that runs on software, Dynatrace’s continuous growth and excellence demands a culture that unites top talent, resonates with their diverse needs and aspirations, and harmonizes team efforts to achieve our business goals.

Dynatrace employee

In the previous installment of the People & Culture Transformation blog series, we highlighted the extraordinary efforts in making our organization a destination workplace, with ongoing changes aimed at enhancing the Dynatrace employee experience. This blog focuses on the steps we’re taking to cultivate a strong and positive environment for Dynatracers worldwide by articulating what our culture is all about.

The Dynatrace Culture Code originated from the need to connect our company culture’s strategic dots into a single source of truth that expresses it simply and clearly. With our recently refreshed Core Values, inspiring Mission, Purpose, and Vision, and internal discovery research, we could now put our “Dynatrace vibes” into words. We aim to express the guiding principles for everyone at Dynatrace, including how we act, make decisions, and interact with one another and our customers daily.

Decoding Dynatrace culture: Putting “vibes” into words

As we scale our organization, the key to sustaining growth and innovation lies in our approach to engaging top-tier professionals. At Dynatrace, scaling effectively means attracting and keeping the right talent to meet our business needs. We’re prioritizing hiring individuals who live our values and believe in our Mission, Purpose, and Vision, while aligning with the expected behaviors that support a strong culture.

Capturing an organization’s vibrant culture in a few words can be challenging, but it’s essential to creating an inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging. The Dynatrace Culture Code allows us to visualize and verbalize our culture in a simple and accessible way so that everyone can understand our Dynatrace “real vibes” and how they contribute to the wider picture: a unified global team working together to ensure software works perfectly.

Mission, Purpose, and Vision at Dynatrace

Connecting the dots and embracing boldness

While the Dynatrace Culture Code was only recently rolled out, most key elements already existed within Dynatrace. Our task wasn’t to introduce something entirely new, but rather to leverage the impact of these elements and highlight their presence. We needed to embrace boldness and curiosity, ask questions, and look deep beneath the surface.

Across the globe, conversations held with Dynatracers formed part of our initial discovery work and highlighted our shared appreciation for our company culture. Our next step was communicating this effectively to potential employees, being upfront and honest about who we are. We reshaped our Life at Dynatrace careers website to tell our story, which captures our culture and explains not only what our values are but also how exactly we Innovate with Passion, Engage with Purpose, and Win with Integrity.

We’re ensuring our story is present at every touchpoint where we might interact with potential future Dynatracers. The goal is to encourage a better understanding of who we are and attract people who align with our values and behaviors.

Adopting the Dynatrace Culture Code internally

While a strong culture has always been part of our DNA, it has evolved over time into the rich culture we’re so proud of today. As a result, it’s become increasingly important to clearly define it and what it means to all current and future Dynatracers.

To successfully adopt the Dynatrace Culture Code, we have embedded it into all areas of our employee experience, from recruitment and onboarding to performance enablement and beyond. Integrating the Culture Code into all aspects of the employee experience ensures that our culture, company values, and expectations of one another remain at the forefront of our minds.

Action item

As we continue our transformation journey, embedding the Culture Code into every aspect of our daily interactions, decision-making, sprints, projects, and operations is integral to our organizational success. Going forward, we’ll ensure all Dynatracers are reminded to refer back to our Culture Code regularly so that we all play our part and are all held accountable for its continued success. It’s crucial that we all know it by heart.

One thing is clear: the simplicity of the Dynatrace Culture Code has already made its adoption possible in many areas of our strategic transformation.

Our ongoing journey

Whether it is our global mindset, Wellness Days, flexible work, or opportunities for continuous learning, there is a personal connection to our company culture for every Dynatracer. The Culture Code acts as a guide, enabling employees to thrive and find a sense of belonging in a diverse, global organization.

With this cultural compass leading the way, we can remain focused on our Mission, Purpose, and Vision to deliver the excellence of Dynatrace to our partners, customers, and colleagues around the globe.

Thank you to everyone involved in developing and implementing the Dynatrace Culture Code. It has already proven to be an integral part of our transformation journey so far, and we’re excited to see how its adoption continues to shape and foster the culture we are so proud of.

This post is part of our People & Culture Transformation series, showcasing our strategic and operational journey to success. Find more stories from this series in the Company and Culture category of the Dynatrace blog.

Dynatrace CEO Rick McConnell on CNBC Europe

In a broadcast interview with CNBC Europe’s Squawk Box, Dynatrace CEO Rick McConnell discussed how the company’s roots in Central Europe have been critical to its success and ability to deliver industry-leading innovation. McConnell also shared his insights on the recent CrowdStrike outage, including how Dynatrace helped its impacted customers minimize disruption to end users. The interview delves into the consequences of major IT outages and the lessons organizations should glean to be better prepared.

Here are a few key takeaways from the interview.

Rooted in “the Silicon Valley of Europe”

McConnell spoke to the value of having deep roots in Central Europe as an Austrian-founded company, highlighting that “over 95% of Dynatrace’s R&D and innovation efforts occur in Europe.” With access to world-class universities and new technology talent, Dynatrace has built a core group of engineers in Europe that McConnell emphasized as a key differentiator for the company. “In many ways, we view Central Europe as the Silicon Valley of Europe,” he said, noting the region as a hub for global tech strategy, which has given Dynatrace a competitive advantage and enabled the company to focus on its mission to deliver software that works perfectly.

Business resilience through the CrowdStrike outage

McConnell also discussed how the global CrowdStrike outage became a prime example of why it’s so important that software works as intended. He spoke about the criticality of investments in technology solutions that eliminate blind spots and reduce manual intervention. He also noted how the company’s unique ‘power of 3’ approach to AI delivers these capabilities to its customers to enable business resiliency.

“It’s about preparation and making sure you have sophisticated, automated systems, to be able to constantly monitor your solutions,” McConnell explains. “At Dynatrace, we use a power of three AI approach, which uses causal, predictive, and generative AI all bundled together to be constantly analyzing billions of data points so that organizations can aggregate, evaluate, and then respond to those data points in near-real time.”

It’s this approach that allows organizations to observe their environments cohesively and resolve issues as quickly as possible. Whether operating on-prem or in a diverse multicloud environment, customers with end-to-end deployments of the Dynatrace platform were back up in hours, while other companies took days to recover.

From humble beginnings with a handful of people in Linz, Austria, in 2005, we’ve grown radically into a global team of over 4,200 people. This growth presented organizational challenges that subsequently transformed into strategic opportunities crucial for scaling our operations. Here’s how we're turning these challenges into our strengths by prioritizing the two cornerstones for successful scaling: the people at Dynatrace and the culture that unites us.

Dynatrace

The story of Dynatrace is a narrative of ambition, innovation, and scale. Our journey has clearly demonstrated our strength in the market, proven by our industry leadership, 3,600+ customers, and $1.159 billion total revenue in Fiscal Year 2023. But scaling an organization at a drastic speed also comes with growing pains and challenges. In response, we are continually evolving our strategies for ongoing success and growth in the ever-changing market.

In this new series of blog posts about our People & Culture transformation, discover the story behind the challenges we encountered and the actions we’re implementing to sweep them away. This journey is one of continuous learning and innovation: fostering a culture of embracing the new while supporting our talent as we experience significant change.

Streamlining efforts for future growth and innovation

Our vision for this transformation emphasizes an engaged, empowered, and innovative culture. The People & Culture team is committed to delivering an efficient and consistently captivating experience for our exceptional talent. At its core, we’re improving the employee experience by streamlining processes and tooling and integrating new offers, allowing for localization and individualization when needed, to enable Dynatracers to embrace their full potential.

“Our transformation is centered on reshaping our people processes to help make Dynatrace a destination workplace for top talent and fostering an environment where every team member can thrive.” – Sue Quackenbush

Our visionary blueprint: Four pillars of strategic evolution

We’re prioritizing the people and culture at Dynatrace by adhering to the following pillars:

  • Inspiring employee engagement
  • Driving career growth and leadership development
  • Attracting and retaining the right talent
  • Creating a diverse and inclusive environment

1. Inspire employee engagement by championing meaningful “Moments that Matter”

At Dynatrace, we’re committed to making every day meaningful for our team, and every team member excited about contributing to our vision. We identified five key “Moments that Matter” in our employees’ journey that significantly enhance enthusiasm and happiness, from joining the company to receiving feedback to celebrating important life events. Our goal is to create a vibrant employee experience throughout the lifecycle, but how will we know if our strategy is working?

Action item: Measuring employee engagement

To track how strongly our team feels connected to Dynatrace and our leadership, and how supported they feel in their roles, we’re introducing recurring internal global surveys. The scores achieved from anonymous responses will be our benchmark in our yearly evaluations, and the insights will be our guide to pinpointing specific areas where we can improve and elevate our engagement and support system.

2. Drive career growth and nurture leadership in a globally agile environment

We’re dedicated to supporting our team members’ career advancement, ensuring clear pathways for growth and progression in alignment with our business goals. This commitment extends to training, mentoring, and sponsoring future leaders within our organization, developing a plan for internal mobility, and nurturing talent pools.

Action item: Implementing a Global Career Framework and Talent Development opportunities

We’ve thoughtfully developed our Global Career Framework in response to a need for aligned roles across Dynatrace and clear visibility into career paths. This framework offers a transparent map, helping Dynatracers pinpoint their current positions, navigate their advancement opportunities, and easily identify transition possibilities for internal job rotations. We also see the development of future leaders as a must, so we offer initiatives such as hybrid, global leadership training.

3. Attract and retain high-performance talent

In today’s competitive landscape, the key to sustaining growth and innovation lies in our approach to engaging top-tier professionals. At Dynatrace, scaling effectively requires us to attract and keep the right talent to meet our business needs. The question that arises is: how do we ensure that we’re resonating with the diverse needs and aspirations of those who will propel us forward as a market leader?

Action item: Launching the Dynatrace Culture Code

We’re prioritizing hiring individuals who live our values and believe in our mission, purpose, and vision. Over the next few weeks, we’ll continue the global rollout of our very own Culture Code. This code will be key to articulating guiding principles for everyone at Dynatrace, including how we act, make decisions, and interact with one another and our customers daily. It’s crafted to attract skilled professionals who share our values, set clear expectations for all team members, and ensure our culture remains strong, regardless of where in the world our talent is based.

4. Evolve the Dynatrace culture by creating a vibrant, inclusive, diverse organization

Our recent internal global study found that we proudly embrace a unique blend of openness, support, and camaraderie, where ideas are freely exchanged and individuals feel genuinely welcomed. While we acknowledge that silos occasionally exist between regions or departments, our commitment to breaking down these barriers remains unwavering.

Our goal is to strengthen this interconnectedness from Dynatracers around the world, stepping out of traditional office boundaries into a hybrid model done right. We want every individual to truly embrace the Dynatrace culture, as encapsulated in our tagline, “Real vibes. Real people.”

Action item: Fostering a culture that embeds our values and unity

To cultivate global connections, we’re committed to creating spaces for meaningful interactions, especially in remote settings. Responding to the need for more intentional remote engagement, we’ve introduced initiatives such as Remote Connect Clubs to strengthen bonds among remote folks, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for various interests and identities.

We’re on a journey

This transformation has just started and marks a strategic, ongoing journey for Dynatrace. It’s not just about implementing predetermined solutions; it’s about encouraging an environment where innovation and teamwork thrive by applying these four strategic pillars. We’re dedicated to refining our strategies, embracing change, and learning along the way. Stay tuned as we share the milestones, insights, and feedback we gather, shaping a dynamic and inclusive Dynatrace.

A big thank you to everyone involved—your contributions are instrumental in building a stronger, more connected Dynatrace.

This post is part of our People & Culture series, showcasing our journey’s strategic and operational aspects. More stories from our transformation are on the way.

To provide a "best-in-class digital banking experience," the team at Ally Bank needed real-time insight into customer experiences without breaking the bank. But multiple high-cost monitoring solutions left them with big bills and little to show. Now, Ally Bank presents Dynatrace with its Ally Velocity with Quality award to recognize how unified observability, AI, and analytics helped the bank gain critical customer experience insights while saving it millions of dollars.

Ally Technology Partner Award

We’re proud to announce that Ally Financial has presented Dynatrace with its Ally Technology Velocity with Quality award. Ally Financial is the home of the nation’s largest all-digital bank and is an industry-leading auto financing business.

This is the second time Ally Financial has presented its Ally Technology Partner Awards. Specifically, the company recognized five third-party suppliers for delivering outstanding service excellence across various criteria that align with Ally’s core values and performance standards. These criteria include operational excellence, security and data privacy, speed to market, and disruptive innovation.

High monitoring costs and limited visibility drive the need for innovation

Ally Financial uses AI-powered observability for monitoring and automating its technology stack, from its cloud and on-premises infrastructure to its applications and customer digital experiences.

But as a company with a mission to “Do It Right” and be a relentless ally for customers and communities, the high-cost monitoring solutions it was using provided only limited insights into end-user experiences. Ally’s goal was to reduce the number of monitoring tools it was using and its annual spend while gaining better, more actionable—and more automatable—insights into systems that affect customer experiences.

Full-stack observability resolved problems, consolidated tools, and reduced costs

Ally became a Dynatrace customer in 2023. Within hours of starting Dynatrace, the team was solving long-standing problems. They quickly adopted full-stack monitoring and real user monitoring (RUM). With the insights they gained, the team expanded into developing workflow automations using log management and analytics powered by the Grail data lakehouse. As a result, Ally is driving a new level of operational efficiency and saving millions in annual licensing costs.

“We partnered with the Dynatrace team to consolidate our observability stack, allowing us to enrich metrics, logs, events, and traces with predictive analytics in a unified fashion across all channels,” said Jason McMunn, Director of System Engineering at Ally Financial. “This resulted in significant savings and much faster ROI. Moreover, we’re able to build automated workflows that help our teams resolve problems, operate more collaboratively and efficiently, deliver software faster, and delight our customers with world-class digital customer experiences.”

For Dynatrace, the Ally award is a cause for end-to-end celebration. “We’re excited Ally Financial has recognized Dynatrace as its Technology Partner of the Year,” said Matthias Dollentz-Scharer, Chief Customer Officer at Dynatrace. “Ally is an agile, modern financial services enterprise that has etched unified observability, AI, and analytics into the core of its cloud strategy. Indeed, by helping their team achieve an end-to-end view of their entire cloud environment—including front-end applications, mobile app experiences, and underlying infrastructure—we are proud to help Ally redefine digital banking.”

The innovation is mutual

The Ally Technology Partner Awards are a way for the company to acknowledge its exceptional partners. “We are proud to honor the vendor partners that play a significant role in our achievements at Ally through the Ally Technology Partner Awards,” said Sathish Muthukrishnan, chief information, data, and digital officer at Ally Financial. “Superior execution, quality, and partnership are showcased by each winner, which we value here at Ally as we aim to provide a best-in-class digital banking experience.”

Earlier this year, Dynatrace presented Ally Financial with its own award as our first Digital Breakout Performer. We present the award to customers who have begun their journey with Dynatrace in the last 12 months and immediately recognize a tremendous return on investment from unified observability, AI, and analytics.

Ally Technical Velocity with Quality award promises more innovation ahead

Receiving the Ally Technical Velocity with Quality award confirms the Dynatrace commitment to delivering customers the tools and technologies they need to make software work perfectly.

Dynatrace is especially proud to support innovators like Ally Financial. “The team at Ally is driving incredible efficiency as they continue to consolidate monitoring tools,” Dollentz-Scharer said. “Ally continues to push the envelope to further monitor their cloud infrastructure costs. Values are the fabric of who we are, what we stand for as a company, and how we deliver what we promise to ourselves and our stakeholders. Studies show that purpose matters now more than ever to individuals, and core values serve as the key to creating a thriving business environment.

Since taking on the role of Chief People Office at Dynatrace in the summer of 2022, my key focus has been developing and continually evolving an outstanding, globally cohesive employee experience to support and strengthen our growing organization. After discovering what unites Dynatrace employees around the globe, I collaborated with our Founder and CTO, Bernd Greifeneder, and CEO, Rick McConnell, to build on and transform the phenomenal culture that has guided the company over the last two decades, which included the refresh of the Dynatrace Core Values.

As a global, multinational company, our leadership team took time to consider how we scale our company culture without losing its unique magic, and how we can make sure all employees know and understand our values—the backbone of our culture.

With these considerations in mind, our refreshed values emphasize the actions we hold in high regard and strive to exemplify in our daily endeavors. Our three values statements were crafted to depict what Dynatrace is today, what we want it to be in the future, and above all, what we want to aspire to be as Dynatracers.

Innovate with Passion

We build innovative solutions and creative approaches to our business across all functions to benefit our stakeholders. The profound curiosity, inspiration, and desire to drive positive change fuel our passion.

Engage with Purpose

We aspire to fulfill our mission through a commitment to excellence and the delivery of meaningful customer value. We collaborate and communicate effectively to reach our shared goals and aid our customers in achieving their objectives. We foster an environment where every Dynatracer can have an impact. We listen with empathy, foster diverse perspectives, and act with kindness.

Win with Integrity

We deliver results through honesty, transparency, and accountability. We compete with tenacity while upholding the highest ethical standards and respect for our customers, partners, and colleagues. We constantly learn from feedback, celebrate with humility, and strive for excellence.

Why and how we refreshed our Core Values

For more than 20 years, the Dynatrace team has been united by the vision of a world where software works perfectly. As we grow, it’s vital to hold onto our essence and protect our core while adapting to change.

When our CEO Rick McConnell joined in late 2021, one of the first actions he initiated together with the Dynatrace Leadership Team was defining our Mission, Purpose, and Vision (MPV) at a time that was shaped by remarkable growth and product innovations. Through our MPV, we created a shared understanding of Dynatrace’s differentiation in the market and the value we deliver to our customers and the world.

During this time, Rick and Bernd had also started to identify where they wanted to lead our people, aligned with their principles and tenets, and building on the values that have made us successful. I joined Dynatrace with a focus on fostering a one-company mindset within our globally distributed and growing team and launched an initiative that brought the voice of Dynatracers into the mix, helping us understand their personal values, employee experiences, and shared traits in the company culture. This top-bottom and bottom-top approach gave us the right tools to redesign our values.

In a collaborative effort that lasted several months and many iterations, these three powerful statements—Innovate with Passion, Engage with Purpose, Win with Integrity—were crafted to embody guiding principles for Dynatracers, building on our new MPV and the discovery of our unique Dynatrace culture uniting us across the globe.

“It was an iterative process allowing us to reflect on the past, present, and future of Dynatrace, discuss our findings, and explore the results received in the employee experience discovery.”

Dynatrace CEO, Rick McConnell

Now, our refreshed Dynatrace Core Values are established. I’m grateful to CEO Rick McConnell, CTO Bernd Greifeneder, every Dynatrace Leadership Team member, and every employee who contributed to the discovery.

“Motivated by our vision and guided by our Values, we don’t just write lines of code or sell pieces of software but work daily to innovate, challenge the status quo, and have a meaningful impact on our customers and in the world.”

Dynatrace CTO, Bernd Greifeneder

As we scale, our next step is to embed our Dynatrace Core Values into every aspect of our actions as a foundational element of our daily experience. This will ensure that our long-standing culture is not only explicit for new team members to embrace but also one that builds on itself as we move forward. For this, we designed and kicked off a Values Adoption Strategy, which includes four steps—Awareness, Comprehension, Application, and Ownership.

We plan to share more about our journey soon. Stay tuned.
