BOSTON, Mass., June 17, 2026Dynatrace (NYSE: DT), the leading AI-powered observability platform, today released findings from its new research, The State of Log Management 2026 report, revealing that the rapid growth of AI workloads is pushing traditional log management approaches to their limits. Modern logs have become critical to understanding, validating, and securing AI-driven decisions, helping organizations ensure reliability, compliance, and performance at scale. However, the volume and complexity of AI telemetry are overwhelming legacy tools, making it harder for teams to keep AI systems explainable, trustworthy, and production ready. As a result, enterprises must rethink how they manage and analyze telemetry data to maintain visibility, control costs, and support AI at scale.

Key findings from the report include:

  • AI workloads have driven a 93% increase in log volume over the last 12 months.
  • Organizations use an average of seven different tools to manage logs and telemetry.
  • 80% say turning telemetry into actionable insights is negatively impacting customer experience and delaying AI initiatives.
  • Organizations exclude an average of 86% of log data to manage costs and system limitations.
  • Teams spend nearly $2.5 million annually on logging solutions.
  • Nearly three-quarters say AI workloads require a platform-based approach to log management.
  • 81% believe log ingestion and processing must be open and automated for real-time analysis.

According to a global study of 450 senior technology leaders, this surge in data, combined with fragmented tools, is making it increasingly difficult for teams to detect issues, secure AI systems, and extract timely insights. Organizations are forced into manual, time-consuming workflows as they compare insights across systems, slowing time to insight and limiting their ability to move AI initiatives from pilot to production.

AI growth pushes traditional log management to breaking point

Respondents estimate they spend an average of nearly $2.5 million annually on logging solutions, including log ingestion, management, storage, indexing, rehydration, and querying. At the same time, logs are a key component for understanding and securing AI systems. To manage rising costs and system limitations using traditional methods, many organizations are forced to limit the amount of telemetry they ingest or retain.

Nearly half of organizations report discarding or not collecting logs, excluding an average of 86% of log data from ingestion, storage, or analysis to manage cost and system limitations. These challenges are most pronounced in environments that rely on fragmented or log‑centric approaches, rather than a unified observability platform designed to handle AI‑scale telemetry.

“AI is accelerating enterprise innovation, but most logging systems were never built for the scale, speed, or complexity of AI‑driven environments,” said Mala Pillutla, Vice President of Log Management at Dynatrace. “As AI agents operate probabilistically, treating logs, metrics, traces, and events as separate signals is no longer viable. To make AI systems reliable and trustworthy, organizations need a unified, intelligent approach that brings all telemetry together in real time, enriched with deep context to drive confident decisions.”

As AI initiatives move from experimentation to production, fragmented log management from too many tools is emerging as a key barrier to reliability, trust, and operational scale.

Unified observability becomes essential to scaling AI workloads

The report underscores the need for a fundamentally new approach to log management, where logs serve as the high-fidelity foundation, unified with distributed tracing and other telemetry data to deliver real-time, context-rich insights at a massive scale.

Nearly three‑quarters of respondents say AI workloads now demand a platform‑based approach to log management, while 81% believe log ingestion and processing must be open and automated to enable real‑time analysis without rigid schemas, indexing overhead, or rehydration delays.

The real cost of observability fragmentation isn’t just the infrastructure bill — it’s the opportunity cost of AI initiatives that stall between pilot and production because teams can’t trust their telemetry. The research shows that roughly a third of organizations are paying for redundant or underutilized observability features, and more than a quarter are burning engineering cycles just keeping multiple tools running across environments. That’s capacity that should be going toward making AI workloads production-ready, not toward stitching together dashboards across numerous different tools.

TORONTO, ON, March 12, 2026 – Payment disruption is placing growing pressure on Canadian businesses. An estimated $7.6 billion in retail and hospitality sales is at risk each year due to payment system failures. A new collaborative report by FreedomPay, Dynatrace and Retail Economics reveals Canadians will wait just six minutes during a service outage before abandoning a purchase. However, the average outage lasts 67 minutes, leaving businesses susceptible to significant financial losses and potential damage to consumer trust and loyalty.

Canada is particularly vulnerable to payment disruptions, with businesses reporting almost seven (6.8) outages per year, a higher frequency than peers in the US (5.7), UK (5.1), France (5.0) and Germany (4.0). Large Canadian businesses with more than $700M in annual turnover report more frequent payment disruptions than smaller operators, increasing their exposure to the financial impact of outages.

The research draws on two nationally representative surveys, covering 2,000 Canadian consumers and 200 retail and hospitality managers, and examine the frequency, duration and commercial impact of payment disruptions.

“Payment disruption is a direct hit to the consumer and to businesses, and the longer it lasts, the more impact snowballs with missed sales and compounding recovery costs,” said Christopher Kronenthal, President at FreedomPay. “Canadian businesses must adopt strategies to avoid and withstand disruption, including layered backup solutions and holistic payment ecosystems.”

With customer trust and authenticity more important than ever, payment system outages also expose businesses to cascading vulnerabilities, potentially impacting long-term performance.

The report also examines how consumers behave when payment systems fail. It finds that almost two-thirds (63%) of “High-Risk Critics” (affluent, frequent shoppers) and more than one-third (38%) of “Silent Walkouts” (those who abandon without complaint) say a single payment failure reduces their trust in a business. This directly impacts long-term customer loyalty and return visits. The reputational risk can extend further online, with more than half (60%) of Gen Z saying they would likely share a negative experience on social media.

“When payments fail, customers don’t just lose time, they lose confidence. A truly integrated payment resilience strategy, capable of anticipating, absorbing and recovering from outages, is no longer an option. It’s the critical investment businesses need to make now to protect their transactions and reputation,” said David Jones, VP of NORAM Solution Engineering at Dynatrace.

The urgency for Canadian businesses to invest in robust payment resilience is underscored by data showing that restoring payment systems within the first five minutes can prevent over 90% of potential losses. This highlights the critical need for rapid recovery capabilities.

Despite these alarming risks, many Canadian businesses are far from ready. The report states that one in three retail and hospitality businesses (32%) operates without any secure digital payment backup. BOSTON, Mass., January 22, 2026 Dynatrace (NYSE: DT), the leading AI-powered observability platform, today released The Pulse of Agentic AI 2026, an inaugural global study focused on how observability and reliability determine the successful operationalization of agentic AI. The survey of 919 senior global leaders responsible for agentic AI implementation reveals that enterprises are not stalling because they doubt AI, but because they cannot yet govern, validate, or safely scale autonomous systems.

A structural shift: reliability as the gating factor

The research found that approximately ~50% of projects are in Proof-of-Concept (POC) or pilot stage.  Adoption is still early but growing rapidly with 26% of organizations having 11 or more projects. As organizations move beyond experimentation and into scaled deployment, they are increasingly seeking platforms that are reliable, trustworthy, and proven.

This shift is reflected in both ambition and execution, with 74% expecting budgets to rise again next year. These findings point to a structural inflection point where reliability, resilience, governance, and real-time insight define enterprise readiness for agentic AI.

Key findings from the report:

  • Almost half (48%) of the senior global leaders surveyed anticipate budget increases of at least $2M, suggesting investments are still prudent.
  • AI agents are most commonly deployed within IT operations and DevOps (72%), followed by software engineering (56%) and customer support (51%).
  • Of those surveyed, business leaders say improving decision-making with real-time insights is top priority (51%) when deploying agentic AI, followed closely by improving system performance and reliability (50%) and improving internal efficiency to reduce operational costs (50%).
  • The greatest ROI expected for agentic AI projects is in ITOps/system monitoring (44%), cybersecurity (27%) and data processing & reporting (25%).
  • The top two main barriers to agentic AI production at this time are security, privacy or compliance concerns (52%) and technical challenges to managing and monitoring agents at scale (51%), followed by shortage of skilled staff or training (44%).

Trust and human oversight

Organizations signal that human guidance remains a purposeful part of agentic AI strategy, even as they build toward greater autonomy. The report shows leaders expect a 50/50 human–AI collaboration for IT and routine customer-support applications and a 60/40 human–AI collaboration for business applications, signaling that human judgment guides the system by setting goals, defining boundaries, and ensuring accountability.

Additional findings include:

  • While over half (64%) of organizations deploy a mix of autonomous and human-supervised agents, 69% of agentic AI–powered decisions are still verified by humans, and 87% of organizations are actively building or deploying agents that require human supervision.
  • Only 13% of organizations use fully autonomous agents, and just 23% rely exclusively on human‑supervised agents.
  • The top validation methods include data quality checks (50%), human review of agent outputs (47%), and monitoring for drift or anomalies (41%).
  • 44% still use manual methods to review communication flows among AI agents, highlighting the need for more automated, governed oversight mechanisms. Autonomy.

“Organizations are not slowing adoption because they question the value of AI, but because scaling autonomous systems safely requires confidence that those systems will behave reliably and as intended in real-world conditions,” said Alois Reitbauer, Chief Technology Strategist at Dynatrace. “With most enterprises now spending millions of dollars annually and planning further budget increases, agentic AI is becoming a core part of digital operations. At the same time, the data shows a clear shift underway. While human oversight remains essential today, organizations are increasingly preparing for more autonomous, AI-driven decision-making. The focus is now on building the trust and operational reliability needed to scale agentic AI responsibly.”

Observability enables trust and scale for Agentic AI

As organizations scale agentic AI beyond pilot projects, observability is the crucial intelligence layer that helps to build trust by providing visibility across every stage of the agentic AI lifecycle, from development and implementation through to operationalization. The report found that observability is already used across the entire lifecycle, with the highest adoption during implementation (69%), followed by operationalization (57%) and development (54%), underscoring its role as a foundational capability as agentic AI moves into production.

Additionally, the report found:

  • Nearly 70% of organizations surveyed already use observability during agentic AI implementation to gain real-time visibility into agent behavior, system performance, and decision-making in production environments
  • 50% use agentic AI for both internal and external use cases, 33% for internal purposes only, and 18% for external purposes only.
  • 50% have agentic AI projects in production for limited use cases, 44% have projects in broad adoption across select departments, and 23% have projects in mature, enterprise-wide integration.

This report is based on a global survey of 919 senior leaders and decision makers directly involved in or responsible for agentic AI development and implementation in large enterprises with annual revenues of $100 million or more. It was conducted and analyzed by Qualtrics partner Y2 Analytics on behalf of Dynatrace during November and December 2025. The sample included 206 respondents in the US, 85 in Latin America, 380 in Europe, 81 in the Middle East, and 196 in Asia Pacific.

Philadelphia, PA and Boston, MA – January 12, 2026 – A new study released today reveals that payment system failures are putting $44.4 billion in U.S. retail and hospitality sales at risk each year, underscoring how quickly disruption can derail day-to-day trading. The research, conducted by FreedomPay and Dynatrace (NYSE: DT) in partnership with Retail Economics, highlights the increasing frequency and impact of these disruptions on day-to-day trading, with consumers exhibiting low tolerance for delays.

The findings show that payment failures are no longer isolated incidents, but part of a recurring operational challenge that disrupts service, damages customer trust, and negatively impacts revenue. U.S. businesses are reporting an average of over five major outages each year, with 63% occurring during peak trading periods, amplifying the financial impact.

“Consumer-facing businesses in the U.S. are navigating an increasingly treacherous landscape,” said Chris Kronenthal, President at FreedomPay. “From widespread outages and connectivity issues to the fragility of existing payment infrastructure, disruption has become a constant. This environment creates a perfect storm for significant revenue loss and long-term damage to customer loyalty and brand reputation.”

Key findings from the study include:

  • Ongoing Annual Losses & Frequency: Payment system failures are putting a staggering $44.4 billion in U.S. retail and hospitality sales at risk each year. U.S. businesses average over five payment disruptions annually, with 63% occurring during critical peak trading hours.
  • Patience Gap Drives Revenue Loss: Consumers will wait just 7 minutes before abandoning a purchase, yet the average outage drags on for two hours. Once the patience runs out, losses escalate fast and U.S. businesses forfeit roughly $1.2 billion in sales per minute between minutes 8 and 13. By the 23-minute mark, cumulative losses can hit $5.3 billion, wiping out 70% of all at-risk revenue.
  • Vulnerable Without Reliable Fallbacks: With less than 30% of U.S. consumers consistently carrying cash, and 15% of businesses lacking any secure digital payment backups, merchants are left highly exposed when digital systems fail.
  • Reputational and Human Impact: Beyond financial impact, payment failures expose brands to significant reputational damage among digitally savvy consumers and contribute to 60% of managers reporting verbal abuse towards frontline staff.
